Campsie Street Festival
21-22 MAY 2024
CAMPSIE, NSW, AUSTRALIA
I was the Curator for the Campsie Street Festival in 2022.
Drawing over 50,000 people, the two-day festival celebrated Asian and Asian-Australian communities in the suburb of Campsie in Sydney, Australia. An initiative by the local council (City of Canterbury Bankstown), the festival aimed to revitalise the suburb and stimulate its economy following the repercussions of COVID lockdowns. It was funded by the NSW Department of Planning and Environment under their Festival of Place Open Streets Program.
I curated a two-day festival program with 26 acts including jazz ensembles, performance artists, a comedian line-up, a lion dance troupe, lion dance workshop and a street dance battle.
